Ruadhán Collier Ó Briain (17) is an uilleann piper and multi-instrumentalist from Gormanston, Co. Meath. Born into a musical family, he began studying cello with William Butt at the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) at the age of seven. He got his first set of uilleann pipes at age 10 and started piping lessons with Nollaig MacCarthaigh at Na Píobairí Uilleann (NPU), later studying with his uncle, master piper Mick O'Brien.

A regular prize-winner for many years at various fleadhanna, Ruadhán won four All-Ireland titles at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Wexford in 2024 and 2025, in whistle and uilleann pipes.

He performs regularly and has recorded for Geantraí, TG4 Fleadh TV and Céilí House on RTÉ Radio One. In 2025, he performed recitals at the Willie Clancy Festival, at the Irish Traditional Music Archive and NPU on Culture Night, and at the Sean Corcoran Festival in Drogheda. He was honoured to be invited to perform for President Michael D. Higgins at his final garden party in Áras an Uáchtaráin in June 2025. Ruadhán has also performed cello with various ensembles at the RIAM and is currently a member of the RIAM Symphony Orchestra.
